THE TATRA MOUNTAINS – “The roof of Slovakia”

The Tatra Mountains, or the “Tatras”, are a sixty-kilometre-long mountain range along the northern border of Slovakia. The sharp peaks, long mountain ridges, valleys full of flowering plants and diverse animal life attract visitors year after year. The peaks reach up to 2, 600 metres above sea level, and tourists who come up by cable car will often find themselves enveloped in clouds. When there are clear skies, you will be treated to a truly tremendous view.

There are vast cave systems to explore and easy routes around crystal-clear lakes. Tourists visit the Tatras the whole year round and enjoy all kinds of summer and winter sports.
